GigOptix designs and manufactures high-speed circuits for optically connected communications and storage systems. Our ICs are located anywhere there is a connection between the electronics and the fiber in an optically connected communication system. GigOptix's optical modulator drivers and receivers go into 10G and 40G transponders and transmitters, the subsystems that are part of central telephone station hubs, as well as datacenters. Basically we are the integrated circuits that power the data through the laser modulator. The transponders are integrated into communication systems for transport, metro, access and datacom. GigOptix's advanced technology integrated circuits provides optical communication system manufacturers with the highest precision signal integrity, the lowest power consumption, and smallest form factor available, enabling them to build the most cost-effective and high performance systems in the market. This gives them a competitive edge in the market by enabling them to meet the increasing demands for bandwidth at acceptable costs.

Formerly known as iTerra Communications, the company used by Alcatel to drive undersea communications for ultra long haul applications, GigOptix is taking this technology to metro and long haul LinOb3 applications.

Ownership

GigOptix is one of the three high tech start-ups funded by DBSI, Inc. via its subsidiaries Stellar Technologies LLC and iTerra Communications LLC. DBSI Companies manages property assets valued and over $2 billion and manages properties representing 13.6 million square feet of real estate in 28 states. Their majority investment and belief in the strategic vision, management team and strength of the market enables GigOptix to successfully move the company forward in traditional and out of the box creative ways, including acquiring technologies for even more sophisticated next generation products.

In addition to funding from DBSI/Stellar Technologies, GigOptix is working closely with Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and is receiving financing and a full range of tailored financial services to help the company meet its growth goals.
